This article is about Sundissential 11th Birthday in association with Hard House Nation @ The Sanctuary in Birmingham (UK), Sat 24 Nov 2007

Exclusive Interview with LT1

With less than a week to go until Sundissential’s 11th birthday and Razor Recordings first tour party. We managed to catch a few minutes with one of the scenes freshest prospects, Razor Recordings label Manager LT1 (Lee).

You have really started to make a name for your self not only for your DJing but production as well. Its my understanding that only the last couple of years Hard House has been your forte. What were you playing before and what made you cross over?

When i first started djing i was into trance in a big way inspired by the likes of TIESTO & PVD, then over time started to move more towards the harder/darker edge of hard trance and from there just progressed really after going to some harder club nights such as STORM, SUNDISSENTIAL & POLYSEXUAL and was blown away by the energy & power of the music of djs like JUSTIN BOURNE, GLAZBY, KARIM & BEN STEVENS were baging out, then i was hooked.

Lee you’re a relatively newcomer to the scene but in such a short space of time not only have you made quite an impact but you own your own record label as well. How did it all come about?

Well i fist met Steve-nrg at the TWISTED DJ's DJ competition in 2006 at SHINE which was my first ever set out and impressed him with my djing skills and determination really, and over a period of litrelly a few months i was signed to TWISTED DJ's, then Tony2pills made me a SHINE resident and shortly after Shenton made me a HELLBOUND resident and from there we become close mates and cus me and steve-nrg have the same drive and focus and mind set we decided to team up and start RAZOR RECORDINGS which is now on its second release and doing better than either of us could of ever imagined.

How long have you been Djing for then?

Ive had my turntables for over 8 years now but as i said b4 ive only been playing out in clubs since mid 2006.

Who would you say are your inspirations who are/have been your main influences?

My main influences for different reasons are TIESTO (love his music), YOJI BIOMEHANIKA (hes nuts behind the decks), KARIM/GRADY G & GLAZBY (lover their sounds), PASSION the club night (that club made me wana be a dj) and mr JUSTIN BOURNE (hes a mixing machine & top bloke to).

Who is your all time favourite dj and which DJs are doing it for you at present?

JUSTIN BOURNE no question the guy is a fuckin amaizin dj, now this is gona sound biased but the 2 djs i predict to become big are Steve-NRG & Shenton both different musically but ive learned so much from them its untrue and ive seen them develope their skillz and sounds over the last few years whereas some of the BIGNAME djs have become stagnent and their sound is so predictable ide listen to any of these 3 djs over any other dj any day of the week.

With your career what are your goals and where do you see yourself in five years from now?

Well what more can i ask for, ive played at some of the biggsest hard dance nights around and on the same bill as some of the industries finest, yehh ide love to do it for a living that would be wicked but ide never want it to become boaring like a nine to five job and for me to loose my passion and just "turn up play get paid" iam seriously not that bothered about money i just wana push my sound and our label as far as i think it can go and become one of the countries best hard nrg djs.

What do you feel is the biggest turn-off with other dj’s and producers?

This 1 is easy its ARAGANCE, thinking they are to big to play here to good to play there iam all for confidence but cant stand aragant people agggrrrr, now few weeks back i played at a house party in Derby for a friends birthday party and PAUL GLAZBY turned up to play a 45min set in the fucking kitchen say no more.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

Hmmmmmmm, flys and pigeons , u know the horrible little bastards that piss u off in the summer and ohhh my god how annoyoing are pigeons when you trying to eat and they keep swoopng down at you trying to nik your food shud be exteriminated forever. "can get of my soap box now" lol.

This is your first release on Razor how do you feel the label is going and what do you think of the current material you have signed to the label?

Iam really excited, my first record on vinyl and the other 3 on the RAZOR002 are awsome to you can listen to the clips on our myspace page
WWW.MYSPACE.COM-RAZORRECORDINGS.COM (plug plug heheh), we have got some serious tunage coming out on RAZOR over the nxt few months and the quality is top notch and weve also decided to make every RAZOR release a 4 tack ep due to shear amont and quality of the tacks we've got signed, as ive said before things are looking awsome for myself and everyone involved with RAZOR RECORDINGS.

This is your first razor recordings tour party and your first ever Sundissential how do you feel about being part of such a big event.

Fucking exstatic!!! with the risk of repeating myself RAZORS got some wicked plans up our sleaves but we would never hav thought 6months ago before we started RAZOR that we would be hosting the OFFICIAL BATTLE OF THE BRANDS ROOM @ SUNDISSENSIAL's 11th BIRTHDAY never mind the fact that i would be playing at the mighty SUNDISSENTIAL, iam bit nevous but well excited and are just looking forward to banging it out, hope to see u all there!!!

And with regards to razor what can we expect from your label for the future?

We've got some awsome tunes signed for future releases from the likes of myself (LT1), Steve-NRG, Rodi Styles, Shenton, Riggsy, JT&mixin to name but a few and also got some wicked tour parties booked at some major events so keep um peeled folks your gona be seeing a lot of RAZOR RECORDINGS.

And finally Out of all the fast rising up and coming talent who do you tip to be the next big thing?

Well ive allready mentioned Steve-nrg and Shenton but Dave The Elf is doing some awsome tunes most of which you will be hearing on future RAZOR releases and has only been djing for a few months soo keep your eyes open for him.
